NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month, is an annual event organized by the Office of Letters and Light. Every November since 1999, participants push themselves to write a complete, 50,000 word novel in just 30 days. In 2011, over 250,000 writers logged a total of over 3,000,000 words.
The Writing Center @ PSU will be holding a series of NaNoWriMo events this year:
- Sign up to NaNo, and submit an idea for a NaNoWriMo novel premise by November 3 to be entered to win a Nook! As an added bonus, Assistant Director Lynn Caldwell will write her NaNoWriMo novel using the winning prompt.
- Join us in the Writing Center on Friday, November 14 from 1-5 pm for a Write-In event. We'll have food, coffee, and moral support for all writers, NaNo or otherwise.
- Come to the Writing Center any time on December 1 to collect your prize for participating in NaNoWriMo!
