New Course Search Engine

Course Search

As of today, I'm putting the finishing touches on a new course search engine that will be made available to campus through the faculty and student landing pages and Academics page. This search engine draws on the data out of the course catalog (not the course schedule maintained inside of GUS). This will allow faculty and students to look up courses right on the site quickly and easily, and find out things like prerequisites, etc.

News Widget Now Available

Our latest widget has just been completed, this one a news listing widget designed to pull in recent headlines from the Press-Media web site. I've kept it pretty trim so it stays easy to use, but you still have some control over the appearance.

New Search Box Widget

Search Box

I just completed a new widget today to enable the creation of a search box widget. This widget allows you to create a search form that can be restricted to a certain area of the web site. This is much like the former search box from the old version of the site.

Server and dotCMS Upgrade Planned

Just so everyone is aware, there is an upgrade of the hardware and software that drives the Pittsburg State University web site planned this week. This will be a two part process to move us into a brand new physical server, and will also update us to the latest version of the dotCMS content management system. Unlike the previous update of dotCMS, however, this is a less visible change, and more for performance and bug fixes...
