Canvas by Instructure

The new learning management system that is currently being adopted by Pittsburg State is Canvas by Instructure.  The installation and set up is currently in progress as of December 2011. 

Timeline for Selection and Implementation of Canvas

• Spring and Summer 2011 - Task Force Evaluation of alternatives for ANGEL. 
• September 2011 - Campus evaluations of two finalists recommended by task force.
• October 2011 - Recommendation to move to Canvas.
• December 2011 - Set-up and integration process begins
• Spring 2012 - Testing and Piloting of Canvas
• Summer 2012 - All courses will use Canvas--ANGEL will no longer be available.

Canvas in Spring 2012

• Approximately 20 classes will be piloting Canvas beginning in late February or March
• Faculty accounts and test course made available by late February, early March.
• Workshop opportunities for faculty beginning in March
