Faculty Professional Development Day 2013

"Promoting Student Success"

The theme for this year's Faculty Professional Development Day is, "Promoting Student Success" and will be held on Wednesday, August 14th.  This year's event will offer a keynote address and 21 breakout sessions provided by your PSU colleagues.

Online registration is closed for this event Onsite registration is available before the event in the Grubbs Hall lobby.  Lunch will not be available to onsite registrants and a limited number of breakout sessions will be available for you to select.


Keynote Speaker

Dr. Temple Grandin, Keynote SpeakerOur keynote speaker will be Dr. Temple Grandin, a professor at Colorado State University. Dr. Grandin is also a best-selling author, autism activist, and consultant to the livestock industry on animal behavior with relevant and cutting edge information on Autism and Asperger's for educators.

Dr. Grandin will bring inspiring stories of achievement from successful adults with autism, Asperger's, and ADHD in preparation for students with special needs at Pittsburg State University.

This keynote is open only to PSU faculty and staff who register for this event.

Dr. Grandin will also be speaking at Pittsburg's Memorial Auditorium, Wednesday, August 14th at 6:00pm.  Everyone is welcome and there is no admission fee for this event.

Lunch

A boxed lunch will be provided by Sodexo from 11:45-12:30 in Grubbs Hall.  Please indicate on your registration if you plan to eat lunch with us and/or if you require a vegetarian option

Breakout Sessions

PSU faculty and staff will present 21 informative sessions on how to "Promote Student Success."  Three different sessions will be held:

  • Session 1:  12:30 - 1:20
  • Session 2:  1:30 - 2:20
  • Session 3:  2:20 - 3:20
