International Friends of Pittsburg (IFP) was founded in this area to share home and community life with international visitors. Members of IFP are volunteers who give freely of their time. They want to get to know you and to help you enjoy your stay at Pittsburg State University. The International Friends families sponsor activities and have several services to help you. They entertain students in the homes, and include them in family activities such as: picnics, concerts, school meetings, sightseeing, family reunions, and other events in which they are interested.

HOST FAMILIES NEEDED
International Friends of Pittsburg is seeking families and individuals to be matched up with one or two new international students; to entertain the new student in your home, include them in family activities, and invite them to community and social events. The students do not live with his/her host family.
Anyone can be a host family. Being a host family doesn't require any special skills -- just a genuine interest in meeting and learning about other cultures, along with the desire to share your cultural traditions with others.
FACT: In later years, the strongest memories international students have of PSU will be their experiences with their "host family."
