Benefits for Active Employees
Credit Card - VISA
(updated 02/10/2012)
Kansas law does not allow agencies to give cash advances to state employees traveling on state business or purchasing items for the state. Therefore, employees must pay for these expenses out of their pocket and get reimbursed. Most employees charge state expenses on their credit cards. Because of this, the state and VISA have made it easier for state employees to get a credit card.
The Travel Card is available to state employees with permanent status in SHaRP and an annual income of over $15,000. If an employee moves to another state agency, the card will transfer. Some features of the card are:
- Issued to individual employees for travel-related expenses
- Restricted to employees with an annual minimum salary of $15,000
- No annual fees
- $2,500 card limit per billing cycle (Please contact A&R if exceptions are required.)
- No State liability for charges to cards
The Travel Card Program is administered by the Division of Purchases. Click here for more information.
