2015 Group Health Insurance Open Enrollment Meetings and Information

Group Health Insurance Open Enrollment.  There are many changes for Plan Year 2015!!!!!!! The Group Health Insurance (GHI) Open Enrollment meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, in 109 Grubbs Hall at 2:00 p.m. HRS encourages all employees and/or spouses to attend this meeting to learn about the changes to the health benefits for Plan Year 2015.  Additional information will be posted on the HRS homepage closer to October 1.

2015 Optional Group Life Insurance Open Enrollment Information

Optional Group Life Insurance (OGLI) Open Enrollment will be held from October 1 - 31, 2014.  PSU employees covered by KPERS, KP&F or Kansas Board of Regents (KBOR) retirement plan are eligible to enroll and/or increase their own Employee and/or Spouse OGLI Coverage.  Any new coverage will become effective on January 1, 2015, and the first premium will be deducted from the 2nd paycheck in January.

Leadership Seminar

Pittsburg State University employees are invited to attend a leadership seminar on Friday, October 3, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Lamplighter Inn (4020 S. Parkview Dr., Pittsburg) sponsored by the Southeast Kansas Corner Human Resource Association, an affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).  

The presenter will be Ron Freeman, former Pitt State Gorilla and Professional Football Player and is currently a Sports Management and Motivational Speaker. The seminar will have two workshops:  1) “Game Changer Identity “ and “Transition: Dealing with Cultural Changes in HR.”  The cost of the seminar is $25 if paid by September 26, 2014 and $35 if paid on at the event (which includes lunch).  For USS supervisors, this seminar will count as 4 hours of continuing education supervisory credit.  Registration is required.

Thinking of Retiring from PSU? Presentation on the Basics

Michele Sexton, Director of Budget and Human Resource Services, will give an informational presentation about retiring from PSU on the following dates:

Topics to be discussed include:

  • *Retirement- frequently asked questions about what to do and when to do it

  • *Medicare and Continuation of SOK Health Insurance

  • *Eligibility for KBOR Retirement and Phased Retirement

  • *Benefits under Phased Retirement

  • *Phased Retirement Application Process and Agreement

All employees, especially those 5-10 years away from retirement are encouraged to attend.

PSU Employee Benefits Fair

The 4th Annual PSU Employee Benefits Fair held in conjunction with the PSU Student Health Fair will be held on Tuesday, October 7 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Oval on the PSU campus.  Due to the renovation of the Overman Student Center, please note the new location of the Fair. Rain site will be located in the Student Recreation Center. 

The PSU Employee Benefits Fair in conjunction with the PSU Student Health Fair will be held before our 2014 Group Health Insurance Open Enrollment meeting on Tuesday, October 7 at 2:00 pm in 109 Grubbs Hall.

HealthQuest Rewards Incentive Program - Free Biometric Screenings

HealthQuest Rewards Incentive Program began a new year August 1, 2013 and has recently been extended through November 15, 2014. Employees can earn credits for a discount on their 2015 health insurance premiums! For full details, visit http://www.kdheks.gov/hcf/healthquest/rewards.html. Login to your account at www.KansasHealthQuest.com to get started today!

Employees only need to sign up for 1 screening during the period – August 1, 2013 through November 15, 2014.  Log in to your account on the wellness portal at www.KansasHealthQuest.com and click on "Biometric Screenings" from the left menu and then select "Onsite Screenings."

Please note that the next HealthQuest program year will now begin on November 16, 2014. Employees can report their appointments (doctor, dental and vision) taking place during the extension period (August 1 - November 15) for credits during the next program year. They just need to wait until November 16  when the new program year begins to report these on the wellness portal  at www.KansasHealthQuest.com.

Flu Shot Clinic Information

Employees and covered spouses with the State of Kansas Group Health Insurance may sign up to receive a free flu shot. Here are the flu shot clinic dates:

  • October 8, 2014 from 8am - 3:30pm in the Overman Student Center, Balkans Room

How to schedule an appointment:

  1. Click here.
  2. Company User ID: 5394
                   Password: 5394
  3. Create an account if you haven't already used the OccuVAX online scheduler.
    Employees that previously used the OccuVAX online scheduler will already have an account and should skip this step. A forgot password is available for those that need it.
  1. Select your clinic.
  2. Select an appointment time.
  3. Enter requested information.
  4. Click the Schedule Appointment button.
  5. You DO NOT need to pay for your flu shot!
  6. Print out the 2014 Consent Form for Insurance Claims. This is the form that you will take with you to your appointment and give to the nurse.

W-2 Information

Electronic W-2 forms are now available! Beginning January 1, 2014, W-2 forms for the calendar year 2013 will be available electronically through the State of Kansas Employee Self Service Portal.  This new option will allow you to securely receive your W-2 electronically and save or print from you own computer.  Each employee must log on to the Employee Self Service portal and consent to receive this information electronically. This is the same portal that you access to complete your Group Health Insurance choices and so now would be an ideal time to choose this option in the portal.  Full instructions for choosing the electronic W-2 and additional information can be found here: http://www.pittstate.edu/office/hr/payroll-information/w-2-.dot
