School of Construction honored by ACI

The Pittsburg State School of Construction will be honored later this month for giving its students various opportunities for hands-on learning.

Pitt State is one of just 26 universities nationwide to receive an Excellent University Award from the American Concrete Institute (ACI). The ACI is a leading authority and resource worldwide for the development and distribution of consensus-based standards, technical resources, educational and training programs. The ACI has more than 95 chapters, 110 student chapters, and nearly 20,000 members spanning more than 120 countries.

The Excellent University Award is given to programs that are highly active in ACI-related programs, such as workshops and student competitions.

“We are proud to receive this award from ACI,” said Assistant Professor Seth O’Brien. “We like to have our students involved with ACI because their activities are wonderful learning opportunities. We’re proud to be involved with ACI, and this recognition is a tremendous honor for the Pittsburg State School of Construction.”

Representatives from PSU’s School of Construction will accept the award at ACI’s Spring 2017 Concrete Convention and Exposition Opening Session and Awards Program, which takes place March 26 in Detroit, Mich.
