Incoming freshmen, first time or transfer student? You will first need to apply for admission into Pittsburg State University. Once your application is approved, you will assigned an advisor within your academic department and given full access to GUS (Gorilla User System).

New graduate student? You will first need to complete an application for admission with the Graduate and Continuing Studies Office, which is located in Room 112, Russ Hall. We suggest that you start this procedure at least one month prior to the start of the semester. Once your application is approved, you will be assigned an advisor within your academic department and given full access to GUS (Gorilla User System).

Summer Tuition and Fees

Fees are charged per-credit-hour. We do not have a full-time student rate in the summer.

Your fees will be available online through your GUS on April 30. Fee statements will only be printed and mailed on request by the student. Your fees must be paid no later than 3:30 p.m. June 4th, 2014 for any courses you are enrolled in for the summer semester. This includes courses that start in the July session. All courses added after June 4th, 2014, must be paid at the time of enrollment. Tuition for courses that begin prior to June 2 are due by the end of day the second day of class.

Additional information

A distance fee of $18.00 per credit hour may apply to classes held an extended distance from campus. This fee compensates for additional travel costs associated with the delivery of instruction.

ELECTRONIC ACCESS FEE:
A media fee of $18.00 per credit hour is added to all on-line courses and courses on the interactive distance learning network.

TECHNOLOGY COURSE FEE:
A course fee of $14.00 per credit hour in addition to the above listed tuition fee, will be charged for all courses taught through the College of Technology. The general education course GT 190 Introduction to Technological Systems, 2 hours, is excluded from the fee assessment. A maximum cap of $140.00 per student/per semester will be collected for the technology course fee.

Gorilla Advantage
Students from bordering counties of Missouri and Oklahoma may qualify for Gorilla Advantage tuition rate which is tuition equal to in-state tuition and fees.

Refund Policy
For those students who find it necessary to withdraw from the university after having completed enrollment, the following policy will apply:

  1. A student who withdraws from the university or a class on or before June 3 (First Four Week Session), July 1 (Second Four Week Session) or June 4th(Eight Week Session) will be refunded full tuition and fees.
  2. A student who withdraws from the university or a class on or before June 9 (First Four Week Session), July 8 (Second Four Week Session) or June 16 (Eight Week Session) will be refunded one-half of the per credit hour tuition and fee.
  3. A student who withdraws from the university or a class after June 9 (First Four Week Session), July 8 (Second Four Week Session) or June 16 (Eight Week Session) will not be refunded any tuition and fees.
  4. Students who withdraw from a course shorter than four weeks will be refunded full tuition and fees if they withdraw prior to the second class meeting. One-half tuition and fees will be refunded to students withdrawing during the first one-third of a short course.
  5. Students may expect a delay of at least three weeks between the time they file for a refund and the receipt of the refund.

A $30.00 charge is made for all insufficient fund checks.
Enrollment verification for Financial Aid will begin 05/26/2014.
