THE L. RUSSELL KELCE PLANETARIUM

PLANETARY SCIENCE WORKSHOPS - The Solar System: Last offered Spring 1997 under the direction of the Southeast Kansas Service Center at Greenbush.  This workshop can be offered with or without credit from Pittsburg State University. We look at the solar system comparatively and as a whole. Topics include the comparative size, distance and density of the planets, internet excercises, a lecture on the major bodies in our solar system which includes images from Voyager, Viking, Apollo, Galileo, Marineer, Clementine, Venera and Pioneer missions. The approach is largely hands-on however with a large packet of projects, information and games distributed to each participant.
