Interior Design: Degree Program Facts
The interior design curriculum is designed to assist the student in acquiring competencies
in a variety of areas. These competencies range from an awareness of mechanical and electrical systems, to an in-depth understanding of architectural programming. The curriculum provides a general foundation of academic courses with specialization in Interior Design. Academic courses include art, business, and construction technology to provide a diverse learning
experience. The interior design curriculum is designed to prepare the student for the NCIDQ certification exam, after they graduate. Study tours to domestic and European
sites introduce students to a more global world of architecture, interior design, and furniture design than they may have previously seen. Through our internship program, students
may gain hands-on experience in working in the area of their choice. (We are not currently CIDA accredited but are working toward the goal of accreditation in the future. For more information concerning the issue of accreditation please talk with one of the FCS Interior Design faculty)
