Phi U at PSU

The Eta Chapter of Phi Upsilon Omicron was established in 1920 at what is now PSU.

To be eligible for membership in the honor society, students must be in the top 35% of their class, be of good character and show leadership potential. Eta Chapter holds both fall and spring initiations.

The Eta Chapter holds monthly meetings, fund-raisers, and professional projects. In 2002, we started the "Angel Tree." Each year it has been a huge success. In 2004, we helped 125 children "Angels" in the Pittsburg area. In 2005, this number increased to over 175 children. The 2004 project received university and district awards. We have continued this project through the years to help the community during upcoming holiday seasons.

Since 2009 Phi U has taken on a recycling project at the end of Spring semester to help people recycle posessions as they prepare to leave the campus for the summer.  in the past there has been dumpsters full of furniture, clothing, and other objects that are still in good to excellent condition.  These have been collected and sent to the Wesley House or Salvation Army.
