The world's best Baja SAE teams compete for the Kansas Baja SAE Championship in this multi-day competition that simulates real-world engineering design projects and their related challenges. Engineering students are tasked to design and build an off-road vehicle that will survive the severe punishment of rough terrain.
100 teams from five countries will put their skills to the test in what has become one of Pittsburg State University's most anticipated competitions. Teams compete against one another to have their design accepted for manufacture by a fictitious firm. Students must function as a team to not only design, build, test, promote, and compete with their vehicle ... but to do so within the limits of Baja SAE rules.
All vehicles are powered by a ten-horsepower Intek Model 20 engine. The use of the same engine, without modification, by all teams creates a more challenging design.
Admission is free and spectator seating is available throughout throughout the course.
Parking for Saturday and Sunday events is at the Kansas Technology Center. Transportation provided to the competition site.
Concessions on Site – No outside food or beverage – No smoking – Closed-toe shoes required
