GRUBBS HALL REMODEL

The Physical Plant began the process of demolition on the 2^nd floor, Room 215 complex of Grubbs Hall on Monday, November 11, 2008.  The demolition is the first step in the complete remodel of the complex.

The remodel has been in the planning stages for over a year now and will involve removal and reconstruction of interior walls and doorways, new ceilings and light fixtures, replacement of floor tile, new plumbing and revision of the H.V.A.C. system.   Also, the remodel will allow for the best possible use of space and the addition of a conference room while enhancing the privacy for the entire department.

The University should receive the final electrical/mechanical engineering design drawings  the first part of December, which will put the estimated completion date on target in the Spring of 2009.

Other departments involved with the planning and completion of the project include Facilities Planning, Office of Information Systems and Instructional media.
