The BAS-TM provides a clear pathway for AAS students who gain technical education at Kansas community colleges and through apprenticeships or other on-the-job training to seamlessly continue their studies and earn a bachelor’s degree at Pitt.
This 60-hour online program can be completed in as little as two years while working full time, and results in a bachelor's degree that enables career advancement.
It's designed for individuals who have earned an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or other technical associate degree and want to advance into leadership and management roles.
To date, the following institutions have signed on in partnership:
The degree bridges the gap between technical expertise and organizational leadership, providing advanced coursework in management theory, leadership, organizational behavior, and production operations.
By recognizing and building on prior technical learning, Pitt State is helping more Kansans reach their educational and career goals.
“This program was built for skilled professionals who are ready to move from the technical side of their field into management,” said Associate Professor Byron McKay, program director. “It allows students to build on what they already know and prepares them to lead teams, projects, and operations in a wide range of industries.”
Because the program is fully online and offered in a flexible format, it is especially suited for working adults balancing education with professional and personal commitments.
Graduates will be prepared for leadership roles such as project manager, operations manager, production supervisor, or technical director, as well as for graduate study in technology management or applied leadership.
“The College of Technology is proud to offer a program that meets an important statewide workforce need,” said Lisa Riedle, dean of the College of Technology. “Employers are looking for professionals who understand both technology and people. This degree creates a seamless path for those with technical backgrounds to move into vital management positions.”
