Scholarships awarded up to the maximum amount listed below based on the following:

  • TOEFL/IELTS/PTE English Proficiency Score

3.8-4.0 $6,000 / year
3.6-3.79 $5,000 / year

Scholarship will be applied in the form of a tuition waiver for up to four years of full time enrollment for undergraduate students and for up to two years of full time enrollment for graduate students. Scholarships are available for new international students (freshman, transfer and graduate) applying to PSU for the first time. Must have admission to a degree program.

Not eligible: exchange students, government/employer sponsored students, students receiving tuition waivers such as graduate assistantships or legacy tuition waivers, online programs, students in special short-term, non-degree programs, Intensive English Program, and other tuition waivers. The scholarship may be rescinded if the cumulative GPA drops below 3.0. Must be enrolled as a full time student. Scholarship will not be applied to tuition during summer semesters.

All programs require or have an internship/practicum available as an elective. Students are encouraged to pursue internships by taking the initiative to secure one that meets their interests and needs.

Pittsburg State University offers graduate assistantships in many departments and offices on campus. Teaching, administrative and research positions are available. 

As an added bonus, all full-time graduate assistants have the opportunity to purchase required student insurance at 25% of the cost. The University will pay the remaining 75%.
