Prestigious honor society inducts Pitt State students, university leaders

Twenty-eight students, along with President Thomas Newsom and Provost Susan Bon, were inducted this spring into Pittsburg State University’s chapter of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest, largest, and most selective all-discipline honor society.

Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by the chapter. Juniors must rank in the top 7.5 percent of their class. Seniors must rank in the top 10 percent of their class. Graduate students with a 4.0 GPA and at least 18 graduate semester hours qualify, as do faculty and professional staff who have achieved scholarly distinction.

“While it is truly an honor to be inducted into this distinguished honor society, the greatest reward is seeing so many of our students recognized for their extraordinary commitment, dedication, and achievements,” Bon said.
