About the Office

The President and Chief Executive Officer of Pittsburg State University shapes the vision and strategic plan of the university and is responsible for all operations of the university.  

The president manages Pittsburg State's nearly $110 million budget, it's nearly 7,000 students, and more than 1,500 employees. The president also plays a critical role on the national stage as a leader who works closely with colleagues in the world's of education, business and government to develop policies which support higher education and regional economic development.

The president is appointed by and reports to the Kansas Board of Regents.

President Steve Scott

Steve Scott was appointed President in 2009. As chief executive officer of Pittsburg State, Scott oversees all aspects of the university's strategic mission.
