Pool is OPEN for Spring 2021 Hours 

Spring 2021 Hours:

All Swimmers MUST have an Aquatic Membership.

Morning Swim:

Monday-Thursday 6:15am-7:30am

Daytime Swim:

Monday-Friday 12-7:30pm 

Closed on Weekends. All open hours are for drop-in usage. No appointments required. 

*Usage will be capped at 30 swimmers during this time

*Current Pittsburg State University Students, Faculty, Staff, and their Dependants have free pool access.*

This membership does NOT include access to the Student Recreation Center


This Membership does include:
  • Access to the Weede Swimming Pool
  • Access to Aquatic Group Fitness Classes
  • Faculty/Staff Pricing on Swim Lessons

An Aquatic Membership is included in all other memberships offered by the Department of Campus
Recreation

Aquatic Memberships can be purchased with a check or exact cash during Open Swim or at the Student Rec Center. Credit and debit cards are not accepted.

Water Aerobic Classes Spring 2021


Aqua-Jogging

Monday, Wednesday, & Friday @ 12:00pm

Deep Water Aerobics

Monday & Wednesday @ 5:00pm

This class will engage muscles in the arms, legs, and abdomen through a series of movements in deep water. This class is low impact on the joints, while having a high impact on overall health. Sign up via IM Leagues

PSU Student Swim Lessons


The Department of Campus Recreation offers FREE Adult Swimming Lessons to fee-paying students. Students may sign up for the swim lessons through IM Leagues. Lessons start on 8/24/20

Level 1 (Monday & Wednesday @ 4:00pm):

This class is designed for adult swimmers with little to no experience in the water. We will work to help adults conquer their fear of swimming and introduce basic concepts of stroke technique and water safety. The majority of this class takes place in the shallow end of the pool. Class is 30 minutes long. 

Due to COVID-19 this class is now a structured as 1 participant to one instructor. The Instructor will be wearing a face shield.

 

 

 

 

Private Swimming Lessons


PSU Campus Recreation offers private swim lessons. Each Swim Lesson Package includes 6 lessons that last 30 minutes with the lessons being taught to the skill level of the participant. The lessons are taught by a Certified Swim Lesson Instructor. Pricing differs depending on your affiliation with PSU.

Weede Pool Rules


  1. No running & no long breath holding
  2. All pool users MUST shower before entering the pool & change in locker rooms.
  3. All pool users who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper.
  4. Children under the age of 16 must have an adult in the water with them. Children the age of 4 & under must be within arm’s reach of an adult at all times (1 adult to 1 child ratio).
  5. Swimmers must be in proper swim attire. Street clothes and shoes are not allowed in the water.
  6. Persons suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or narcotics will be denied entry and/or asked to leave the premises.
  7. No food, beverages, smoking, or glass in the facility.
  8. Floatation devices (water wings, swim suits with floats, etc.) are not allowed unless U.S. Coast Guard approved.
  9. Diving in water less than nine feet deep (9 ft..), back dives, and somersaults from the side of the pool and any other unsafe activities are not permitted.
  10. All swimmers must follow the directions of the Aquatics Staff.
