Pitt State planning February performances across campus

Audiences are invited to experience a wide range of music and theater performances at Pittsburg State University throughout February — it may be a short month, but it’s definitely a full one.

“The Telephone” and “Trial by Jury”
Friday, Feb. 6 and Sunday, Feb. 8
Bicknell Family Center for the Arts

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, PSU Opera will present a comedic double feature: Gian Carlo Menotti’s “The Telephone” and Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Trial by Jury!”

Both performances will be in the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts, 1711 S. Homer, at 7 p.m. on Feb. 6 and 3 p.m. on Feb. 8.

Filled with laughter, love, and lively music, the double-billing will begin with “The Telephone,” a charming comedy in which Ben is determined to propose to his beloved Lucy — if only he can compete with the constant buzz of her devices! Will true love triumph over modern distractions?

The fun will continue with the uproarious “Trial by Jury,” a whirlwind courtroom spectacle where jilted lovers, sharp-tongued arguments, and witty musical antics collide. Who will win this melodious battle of hearts?

PSU Opera is directed by Instructional Professor Patrick Howle.
