Pitt State Phi Kappa Phi announces inductees, award winners 

Pittsburg State University’s chapter of Phi Kappa Phi honor society inducted new members in a ceremony at the Overman Student Center this month. 

Founded in 1897, Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.  

Membership in Phi Kappa Phi is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter.

Rylee McElroy, a sophomore nursing and Spanish major from Shawnee, Kansas, was awarded a study abroad grant of $1,000 — one of 125 students nationwide to receive the award. McElroy used the grant to study abroad in Alicante, Spain.  

The chapter also announced a $250 scholarship for one new member, Victoria Poyner, to be used toward tuition this fall.
