Dainty named Teacher of the Year

Professor Julie Dainty was named Post-Secondary Teacher of the Year by the Kansas Association of Career and Technical Education and by the Kansas Association of Teachers of Family and Consumer Sciences.  

Dainty, who teaches in PSU’s Technical Teacher Education program providing continuing education for high school and postsecondary teachers, also is a family and consumer sciences mentoring coordinator in the Kansas Center for Career & Technical Education.

She is a two time Pitt State grad: she earned a bachelor of science degree in vocational secondary family and consumer sciences in 1989, a master of science degree in technical teacher education in 2008. She also earned an Ed.D. from University of Arkansas in 2012.

“It feels very humbling! I feel beyond honored to be recognized for something I love doing. Teaching has been my passion since a very young age and to be presented an award for my passion is like a cherry on top!”
