Allison Barry


About

Dr. Barry is an Assistant Professor at Pittsburg State University. She teaches Introduction to Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Testing and Prescription, Introduction to Research Methods, and Research Projects. She earned her B.S. in Health and Human Performance from the University of Montana, M.S. in Kinesiology from the University of North Dakota, and Ph.D. in Exercise Science and Nutrition from North Dakota State University.

Dr. Barry is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association, American College of Sports Medicine, and Central States American College of Sports Medicine. She has presented at international, national, regional, and local conferences. She also has peer-reviewed papers on physical activity in children and physical activity and cardiorespiratory fitness in structural, career firefighters.

Research

Her current research agenda is to investigate cardiorespiratory fitness and device-measured physical activity levels in structural, career firefighters.
