AGC student chapters exist to encourage and support student interest in the professional construction industry. Exposure to the working industry is vital to the preparation of future industry practitioners. AGC of America in conjunction with AGC's local chapters supports over 150 student chapters nationwide. AGC student chapters have a long and rich history dating back to April 28, 1930 with the first nationally charted AGC student chapter.
The Pittsburg State University Student Chapter of the AGC of America was originally charted in September 1975.

The purpose of the Pittsburg State University MCA Student Chapter is to introduce and promote mechanical contracting among the students. The objectives used to accomplish this purpose shall be to:
Promote communications and networking between student members and contractor members.
Expand the student members' knowledge of the mechanical contracting industry.
Unite and promote fellowship between student members and the professional societies that serve the industry.
Familiarize students, faculty, and administrators with the professional character and economic impact of the mechanical contracting industry.
Provide an avenue for community service, where students can give back to the community.
Provide a way to improve the teaching, and facilities at Pittsburg State University, where industry feedback can help improve the quality of education.

The NAHB Student Chapters program is dedicated to enriching the educational experience of students by offering them first-hand exposure to the real world of the building industry through NAHB membership, educational programming, and networking opportunities.
Working with a faculty adviser and drawing on the mentors and industry leaders in their local home builders association, student chapters can compete in national competitions, win scholarships, enjoy discounts on trade shows, and enjoy all the benefits of membership in NAHB.
