For this joyous concert, singers Cristi Catt, Daniela Tosic, and Deborah Rentz-Moore join forces with violist Rachel Jayson, and pianist Noriko Yasuda in a program that mixes every possible combination of voice, viola, and piano. In one moment, the listeners are transported by nature’s beauty or transfixed in a web of lace while in another, swept away by joyful rhythms of folk- inspired works. The stories of these amazing women are woven through this engaging program that includes Ysaye Barnwel, Modesta Bor, Lili Boulanger, Cecile Chaminade, Rebecca Clarke, Ella Jenkins, Emily Lau, songwriter duo Edith Piaf and Marguerite Monnot, Nadine Shanti, and Patricia Van Ness.
Tapestry Vocal Ensemble, founded by Laurie Monahan, Cristi Catt and Daniela Tosic, has established an international reputation for its bold conceptual programming of a wide range of vocal music.
