Eric Harris


About

Eric Harris is Associate Dean of the Undergraduate School of Business and Professor of Marketing.  He joined the faculty in August of 2005 after serving on the faculty at the University of South Florida. A native of Pittsburg, he has B.B.A. and M.B.A. degrees from Pittsburg State University and a Ph.D. in Marketing from Oklahoma State University. Eric was a member of the 2000 Doctoral Consortium at the University of Western Ontario and he has served the college as Department Chair, Accreditation Coordinator, Director of Research and Engagement, and Interim MBA Director.  In addition, he has served on dissertation committees at Louisiana Tech University and University of South Florida. 

Eric's professional and consulting experiences include work in advertising, sales management, health care marketing, and customer satisfaction assessment.  He also has a background in music. He is actively engaged in research and has published work in journals such as Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Business Research, Psychology & Marketing, Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management, Journal of Services Marketing, Journal of Business & Psychology, Journal of Consumer Marketing, and others. He also serves on the editorial review board for Journal of Business Research, Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice, Journal of Services Marketing, and Services Marketing Quarterly. He has also contributed to the Wiley International Encyclopedia of Marketing. In addition to his role as Editor for Journal of Managerial Issues, Eric has won outstanding reviewer awards for his service with Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice, Journal of Services Marketing, and Journal of Business Research. His research focuses primarily on personality issues pertaining to consumer and employee behavior, customer-contact personnel customer orientation, and sales force goal orientations. He has also published a Consumer Behavior textbook, "CB", with Barry Babin of Louisiana Tech University, as well as an International Marketing text with Drs. Donald and Daniel Baack.

He is affiliated with a number of professional associations including The Academy of Marketing Science, Society of Marketing Advances, Association of Collegiate Marketing Educators, Marketing Management Association, and American Marketing Association.
