Master's of Reading Requirements:

Admissions criteria for the Master's Degree in Reading will include the following:
  • Candidates seeking admission to the Master of Science in Reading degree program must have a valid teaching license.
  • Candidates must obtain a GPA of 3.00 in the undergraduate major field, including the student teaching semester. Conditional entry may be given if the GPA in the undergraduate major field is below a 3.00.
  • Candidates in teaching positions must submit two recommendation forms from a PK-12 administrator, peer teacher, and/or university professor. Evidence of classroom teaching experience and a background check are also required.
  • Candidates not in teaching positions must submit two recommendation forms from university professors and a background check.
Culminating Assessment Requirements
Successful completion of a portfolio.
