Overview


The Pittsburg State University Elementary Education program focuses on hands-on experience in classrooms with award-winning elementary teachers. Our professors teach students how to bring their passion for teaching to the classroom in order to become the teachers that students will remember for the rest of their lives.

Beginning in the first semester of their sophomore year, students in our Elementary Education program spend over 1,000 hours in elementary classrooms working with children and mentor teachers in Kindergarten through Grade 6. In this role, students practice teaching strategies and classroom management techniques that help them to meet the needs of all children.

 

 

Your time in the Elementary Education program will lead to a K-6 teaching license. And by adding one of our innovative and hands-on minors, you can add an endorsement to your teaching license or receive a certificate in the following areas:
