Access to Campus Facilities
Pittsburg State University Police control access to university
facilities. After-hours access to academic buildings is allowed only to personnel
with the appropriate building pass. All departments are encouraged to develop
and use a building pass procedure.
The University Housing Office has adopted a 24-hour lock-up
policy for all residence halls on campus. Officers make periodic building checks
of residential housing facilities after 10p.m.
The University Police Department works closely with the
University Physical Plant to maintain tight key control.
The Physical Plant maintains the university buildings and
grounds with a concern for safety and security. It inspects campus facilities
regularly, promptly makes repairs affecting safety and security, and responds
to reports of potential safety and security hazards, such as broken windows
and locks. The University Police assists Physical Plant personnel by reporting
potential safety and security hazards. Students, as well as faculty and staff,
may also call the Physical Plant (235-4777) to report any safety or security
hazards.
