Workshop Descriptions

Gradebook

This workshop will cover setting up the ANGEL grade book manually so that students can view their grades online.  We will also discuss how to create an assignment to be completed in ANGEL (discussion boards, drop box assignments, tests) and tie them to the grade book.

Managing the Course Roster/Attendance Manager

Learn how to hide students and disable them from entering your course if they drop your class, as well as how to hide them when either viewing the grade book or entering grades.  Also, how to use the attendance manager in ANGEL--setting the beginning date for class, setting preferences for weekly schedules, entering attendance and changing the legend.

Testing

Come learn how to create a new test in ANGEL, use settings to restrict time, access to tests, and how to engage ANGEL testing security.  Also, we will discuss how to import test questions previously used in Blackboard, how to copy and paste test questions from MS Word into ANGEL and how to create a test that will select random blocks of questions for each student.

LOR

The Learning Object Repository (LOR) enables you to easily reuse learning objects across courses, sections, and semesters and can save you a great deal of time. Learn how to copy ANGEL information currently in an 07WF ANGEL course to your LOR, and then how to use this in new courses from semester to semester.

Introduction to ANGEL

If you haven't used ANGEL yet but would like to begin learning to implement it for spring, this workshop will help you learn how to navigate the system and set user preferences. Topics covered will include how to upload your syllabus and how to use the ANGEL email and announcement tools.

Copying 07WF Content to 08SP

This workshop is for faculty using ANGEL in 07WF to help prepare new sections for 08SP.  Either copy from one course to another, or use the preferred method of housing content in the LOR which allows you to easily reuse this material in any course that you have editing rights.  Also, we will discuss how to copy grade book settings from 07WF into new sections for spring--no need to re-create grade book assignments from one semester to the next.
