Pitt State presents a summer of opportunity
Even though most students refer to it as a summer “break,” the work of education goes on during the summer months at Pittsburg State University.
The university will hold two summer sessions from June 10-July 3 and July 7-August 1. Classes vary from basic requirements to upper-level advanced courses. Financial assistance may be available to students who qualify.
More than 600 courses will be offered this summer, and according to PSU Registrar Debbie Greve, these courses meet a broad range of student needs.
“Besides a selection of general education and standard major courses, we are well-known for offering a wide variety of unique short courses and workshops during the summer that provide educational opportunities not found in courses scheduled during the fall and spring semesters,” said Greve.
Summer presents a number of advantages for students enrolled at PSU. With fewer students on campus, classes are smaller and there is a greater opportunity to interact with other students and faculty. This also allows for more focus in subjects that may be more challenging.
For those students undecided on a specific field of study, summer is a great time to explore a special area of interest or to get ahead on required credits. Courses are also available for professionals who need continuing education credits or just want to brush up on skills. Campus and online classes are available for even the busiest student.
