Spring Commencement

For about 1,000 eager Pittsburg State University students, the big day they (and probably their parents) have been waiting for has finally arrived. Commencement exercises take place on the PSU campus on Friday, May 18, and Saturday, May 19. Friends and family will come from near and far to share this special day with graduates.

Commencement activities actually begin on Thursday, May 17, with the Nursing Department Pinning Ceremony. On Friday, May 18, U.S. Army ROTC cadets will receive their commissions in a ceremony at the Veterans Memorial. In order to accommodate the growing number of graduates and their families, PSU divided commencement into two ceremonies. Commencement for the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Business will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Commencement for the College of Technology and the College of Education will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 19.

7 p.m. -- Nursing Department Pinning Ceremony, Memorial Auditorium

Friday, May 18

6-7 p.m. -- President’s Reception for graduating students and their families, tent northwest of Garfield W. Weede Physical Education Building

6:30-7:15 p.m. -- Graduates Obtain Name Cards, Weede PE Building

7:15 p.m. – Processional line-up, Weede PE Building

7:30 p.m. – Processional Begins

Saturday, May 19

8:30-9:30 a.m. -- President’s Reception for graduating students and their families, tent northwest of Garfield W. Weede Physical Education Building

9-9:45 a.m. -- Graduates Obtain Name Cards, Weede PE Building

9:45 a.m. – Processional line-up, Weede PE Building

10 a.m. – Processional Begins
