Because we live in an increasingly interconnected global environment, Pittsburg State University provides many opportunities for students to understand and interact with persons in other nations. Through numerous study-abroad opportunities, students can travel and study in a wide range of countries.
According to Chuck Olcese, director of International Affairs at PSU, students who participate in study-abroad programs frequently look back on them as life-changing experiences.
Sara Monrad, recalls studying in Spain as one of the most beneficial experiences of her university experience. “It taught me more about the world and the U.S.'s role in it,” Sara said. “The experience of learning from another culture cannot truly be taught. It must be lived through firsthand.”
Keith Richter said his study trip to South America gave him “the chance to develop many new friendships with people around the world with whom I still keep in touch today.”
