Community Affairs' main concern is to promote Pittsburg State University's Student Government Association as a legitimate body and presence in the community. SGA tries to tie together the community of Pittsburg and PSU students.

Projects:

• PSU Student Discount Card:  Each year SGA works with area businesses to provide discounts for students. This service is brought free to students to encourage their business in the community and to give them an idea where PSU friendly services are available. However, instead of giving out a discount card students may use their own PSU ID to receive their discount around Pittsburg!
• Canned Food Drive :  Every year Student Government does its part in helping the community during homecoming week. During the Yell Like Hell Pep Rally student groups bring canned food with them for SGA to donate to the community. Congratulations to the 2006 winner: SIGMA SIGMA SIGMA SORORITY!
• Chamber of Commerce Member:  To make sure we are active in the community SGA has become a member of the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce. This helps PSU connect with the community and brings ideas to our organization in how to help and aid students and with which services we can do that.
