  2. See your major advisor and plan a program of study. Your advisor will approve courses, enrollment load, and alternative courses for you. The advisor may enroll you in classes on-line at his/her personal computer if you are advised on the day you are scheduled to enroll or the advisor may give you your advisement number and suggest you enroll in a PSU computer lab or via any computer connected to the World Wide Web.
  3. Undergraduate students can view and enroll in courses shown on their degree audit via any computer connected to the World Wide Web. The undergraduate degree audit is continually available on the Web for undergraduates.
  4. Early enrollment for the Spring 2008 semester will begin Monday, November 5. Students will enroll according to the following schedule. Student status is based on all previous hours passed. Current semester enrollments are not included in passed totals. All holds, if any, must be cleared before a student will be permitted to enroll.
  5. Online enrollment begins at 5:00 A.M. on your designated day.

    November 6, Tuesday Juniors (60 hours passed)
    November 7, Wednesday Sophomores (30 hours passed)
    November 8, Thursday Freshmen N-Z
    November 9, Friday Freshmen A-M

    November 5-6 Professional Semester Students enroll in room 110 Hughes Hall

  6. All students must obtain a GUS PIN number to be used to enter the on-line enrollment system. GUS PIN numbers were previously issued to currently enrolled students during the fall semester enrollment process. Students who have lost their GUS PIN number can obtain a new number from the OIS Service Window, Room 109 Whitesitt. New and re-admission students will be issued a GUS PIN number in their enrollment packet at the start of their enrollment.
  7. Enroll through any computer connected to the World Wide Web. PSU computer labs are available for on-line enrollment and are listed under the heading "University Computer Labs" following these Enrollment Procedures.
  8. Step by step enrollment procedures for the on-line system follow these Enrollment Procedures, see "Web Enrollment Instructions."
  9. Your fees will be viewable on-line through your GUS account. Fee statements will only be printed and mailed on request by the student. Your fees must be paid no later than 3:30 p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2008. Those paying on-line may make payment up to 11:59 p.m. without a $30.00 late fee penalty.
  10. If it is necessary for you to change your schedule after you have enrolled on-line, you may drop and/or add classes beginning immediately through the on-line enrollment system and continue through January 24, 2008.
  11. By following the above procedures, you are completely enrolled for the spring semester. Classes begin Thursday, January 17, 2008.

CONTINUOUS ENROLLMENT

Wednesday, November 14, 2007- Thursday, January 24,2008

Any student who has been enrolled at Pittsburg State University within the last 3 semesters can enroll for spring classes from November 14,2007-January 24, 2008. All degree seeking students must begin the process by contacting their academic advisor and then following the procedures under "Web Enrollment Instructions".

New Undergraduate Students

Students taking their first course for undergraduate credit in residence must file an application for admission with the Office of Admission. Obtain your enrollment packet in the Office of Admission, Room 107, Horace Mann.

New Graduate Students

Students enrolling in their first course for graduate credit must complete an application for admission with the Continuing and Graduate Studies in the Graduate Office, Room 112, Russ Hall.

Returning Students

All students enrolled in residence at Pittsburg State University in the Fall 2007, the Summer 2007, or the Spring 2007 who did not enroll during "Early Enrollment" will be required to contact their advisor for enrollment or obtain an advisement number directly from their advisor in order to enroll themselves through the GUS system.

Enrollment By Mail For Evening Classes
Those students interested in enrolling by mail in one or more evening or Saturday class (not regular day work, Monday through Friday) should follow these steps:

  1. Degree -seeking students should confer with an advisor. We will contact the advisor you list on your mail application for approval of your enrollment.
  2. Fill out the Application for Enrollment by Mail and mail it to the Registrar's Office at Pittsburg State University, 1701 South Broadway, Pittsburg, Ks. 66762. Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express cards are acceptable. Include card number and expiration date.
Attendance Schedule for Saturday and Evening Classes
Monday night classes Begin January 28 - End May 12
Tuesday night classes Begin January 22 - End May 13
Wednesday night classes Begin January 23 - End May 14
Thursday night classes Begin January 17 - End May 8
Friday night classes Begin January 18 - End May 9
Saturday classes Begin January 19 - End May 10

Evening Classes will begin as listed on the above schedule, and all students are expected to be enrolled prior to that time.

Monday classes should plan to meet one additional class meeting or an additional ten minutes each week to make up for the fifteen week Monday spring schedule.

Saturday classes are scheduled to meet Easter weekend.

Evening and Saturday classes will not meet during spring vacation in the week of March 16-23.

Evening and Saturday classes will meet sixteen weekly sessions, including final examinations. Three-hour classes will meet the equivalent of three fifty-minute periods and two-hour classes will meet the equivalent of two fifty-minute periods per week. Classes for other amounts of credit should be similar in organization

JANUARY ENROLLMENT

Wednesday, January 16, 2008 (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

New Undergraduate Students
Students taking first course for undergraduate credit in residence must file an application for admission with the Office of Admission. Obtain your Enrollment packet in the Office of Admission, Room 107, Horace Mann during the day Wednesday, January 16, 2008.

New Graduate Students
Students taking first course for graduate credit in residence must file an application for admission with the Graduate Division.

Obtain an enrollment packet in the Graduate Office, Room 112, Russ Hall any time during the day Wednesday, January 16, 2008.

Returning Students

All students enrolled in residence at Pittsburg State University in the Spring of 2007, Summer of 2007, or Fall of 2007, who did not early enroll, will be advised to contact their advisor and obtain their advisement number. Department offices are listed in the previous section describing early enrollment.

Students last enrolled at Pittsburg State University prior to the Spring 2007 semester are encouraged to complete an application for readmission at least one month before the beginning of the Spring 2008 semester in order to facilitate their enrollment. Undergraduate readmission forms are to be submitted to the Admission Office, 107 Horace Mann. Graduate readmission forms are to be submitted to the Graduate Office, 112 Russ Hall. Undergraduate and graduate students last enrolled prior to Spring of 2007 may obtain their enrollment materials in 107 Horace Mann or 112 Russ Hall respectively on Wednesday, January 16, 2008.

ENROLLMENT PROCEDURE January 16

  1. See your major advisor and plan a program of study with your advisor. Your advisor will approve courses, enrollment load and alternative courses for you.   2. All students must obtain a GUS PIN number to be used to enter the on-line enrollment system. GUS PIN numbers are available from the OIS Service Window, Room 109 Whitesitt. New and re-admission students will be issued a GUS PIN number in their enrollment packet issued by the Offices of Admission or Graduate Studies.

  5. Fees may be viewed on-line thru GUS by early December or a fee statement will be mailed upon request of the student. Payment may be made on-line, via mail, or personally visiting the Cashiers and Student Accounts Office, 112 Horace Mann. Make your checks payable Pittsburg State University for the amount of fees shown or the amount known to be the balance after loans, grants, and/or scholarships have been subtracted. Beginning January 2, 2008 students may verify their enrollment for financial aid to be applied to their account. Fees must be paid by 3:30 p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2008. A late fee of $30.00 will be charged for fees paid beginning Friday, January 25, 2008.
