  1. See your major advisor and plan a program of study with your advisor. Your advisor will approve courses, enrollment load and alternative courses for you. The advisor may enroll you in classes on-line at his/her personal computer if you are scheduled to enroll on that day or the advisor may give you your advisement number and suggest you enroll in a PSU computer lab or via any computer connected to the World Wide Web. Computer labs are located on campus in Horace Mann, the Library, Kelce, or Hughes Hall.
  2. A degree audit is continually available to all undergraduate students on-line. An undergraduate student should apply for an official degree audit with the Degree Checking Office, 102 Russ Hall, when the student attains 85 semester hours of credit (including current enrollment). Written application for the official degree audit must be made on an approved form in the Degree Checking Office.
  3. Early enrollment for the Summer and Fall 2008 semester for any student who is currently enrolled will begin Monday, April 14. Students will enroll according to the following schedule starting at 5:00 AM each day.
    • Student status is based on all previous hours passed.
    • Current semester enrollments are not included in passed totals.
    • All holds, if any, must be cleared before a student will be permitted to enroll.

      April 15, Tuesday Juniors (60 hours passed)
      April 16, Wednesday Sophomores (30 hours passed)
      April 17, Thursday Freshmen A-M

  4. All students must obtain a GUS PIN number to be used to enter the on-line enrollment system. GUS PIN numbers were previously issued to currently enrolled students. Students who have lost their GUS PIN number can obtain a new number by visiting www.pittstate.edu and clicking on GUS Login. Select "If you forgot your GusPin or want to create one, click here". Upon providing your student identification number, a "one time use only"GUS PIN will be e-mailed to the e-mail address you have on file at PSU. You will then be instructed in how to create a new PIN. GUS PINs may also be obtained from the O.I.S. Service Window, Room 109, Whitesitt. New and re-admission students will be issued a GUS PIN number in their enrollment packets at the start of their enrollment or may have received one upon applying to PSU.
  5. Enroll through any networked computer system. PSU computer labs are available for on-line enrollment and are listed under the heading "University Computer Labs" following these Enrollment Procedures.
  6. Step by step enrollment procedures for the on-line system follow these Enrollment Procedures, see "Web Enrollment Instructions."
  7. Your fees will be viewable on-line through your GUS account immediately after your enrollment. Fee statements will only be printed and mailed on request of the student. Your fees must be paid no later than 3:30 p.m.,Tuesday, Sept.2nd, 2008.
  8. If it is necessary for you to change your schedule after you have enrolled on-line, you may drop and/or add classes through the on-line enrollment system thru September 2nd, 2008 with your enrollment advisement number. You may also contact your advisor or the Registrar’s Office for assistance in dropping or adding a course. After September 2nd,2008, all enrollment changes must go through the Registrar's Office.
  9. By following the above procedures, you are completely enrolled for the fall semester. Classes begin Monday, August 25, 2008.


CONTINUOUS ENROLLMENT

Monday, April 14- Friday, August 22, 2008

Any student who has previously enrolled at Pittsburg State University may enroll for summer and fall classes, beginning April 14, 2008, according to the enrollment schedule. Individuals who were enrolled during the 2008 Summer Session, the 2008 Spring Semester, or 2007 Fall Semester should begin the process by seeing their academic advisor to obtain an advisement number and then following the procedures under "Web Enrollment Instructions".

Students last enrolled at Pittsburg State University prior to the 2007 Fall semester should contact the Office of Undergraduate Admission, 107 Horace Mann, or Graduate Admission, Room 112 Russ Hall at least one month before the beginning of the Fall 2008 semester. Readmission forms may also be downloaded through the Admission and Enrollment Services link or completed on-line for undergraduates. Graduate readmission may also be completed on-line through the Graduate Office link.

EVENING AND SATURDAY CLASSES
Saturday and evening students who enroll by coming to the campus should follow the directions listed under the heading "Continuous Enrollment."

Evening Classes will begin as listed on the above schedule, and all students are expected to be enrolled prior to that time.

Monday evening classes will meet August 25 but will not meet September 1st(Labor Day).Wednesday evening classes will not meet on November 26 (Thanksgiving Eve). No make-up session is necessary.

Thursday evening classes will not meet on October 23 (Fall Break) or November 27 (Thanksgiving); however, one make-up session must be arranged to meet minimum class periods.

Friday classes will not meet October 24 (Fall Break) or November 28 (after Thanksgiving); however, one make-up session must be arranged to meet minimum class periods.

Saturday Classes will begin Saturday, August 30. Saturday classes will meet on Homecoming Saturday, October 18. Classes will not meet Saturday, October 25 (Fall Break) and Saturday, November 29 (after Thanksgiving); however, one make-up session must be arranged to meet minimum class periods.

Evening and Saturday classes will meet sixteen weekly sessions, including final examinations. Three-hourclasses will meet the equivalent of three fifty-minute periods and two-hour classes will meet the equivalent of two fifty-minute periods per week. Classes for other amounts of credit should be similar in organization

Enrollment By Mail For Evening Classes

Those students interested in enrolling by mail in one or more evening or Saturday class (not regular day work, Monday through Friday) should follow these steps:

  1. Degree-seeking students should confer with an advisor. We will contact the advisor you list on your mail application for approval of your enrollment.
  2. Fill out the Application for Enrollment by Mail and mail it to the Registrar, Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, KS 66762. Include the proper fee (check or money order) payable to Pittsburg State University. Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express cards are acceptable. Include card number and expiration date.

AUGUST ENROLLMENT

Friday, August 22, 2008 (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

New Undergraduate Students

Students taking their first course for undergraduate credit in residence must file an application for admission with the Office of Admission. However, it is recommended that you complete your application at least one month prior to the beginning of classes. Obtain your enrollment packet in the Office of Admission, Room 107, Horace Mann during the day Friday, August 22, 2008 if you have not already applied.

New Graduate Students

Students taking first course for graduate credit in residence must file an application for admission with the Graduate Division. However is is recommended that you complete this application at least one month prior to the beginning of classes. Obtain your enrollment packet in the Graduate Office, Room 112, Russ Hall any time during the day Friday, August 22, 2008 if you have not already applied.

Returning Students

All returning students must meet with their advisor first to obtain their advisement number. Students may then enroll with their Advisor or on-line. If you have been away from PSU for longer than 3 semesters then you must re-apply either through the Admissions office or the Office of Continuing Studies prior to enrollment.
