Classified Employee Professional Development
What is CEPD?
CEPD (Classified Employee Professional Development) is a funding source for
Classified employees who want to expand their job skills through seminars, conferences, webinars
and workshops. Funding is provided by the PSU Foundation and is limited to $300 per employee
per fiscal year. Reimbursable expenses include travel outside a 50 mile radius of Pittsburg.
Who is eligible for CEPD funding?
All permanent, Classified employees are eligible for this funding.
How do I apply for CEPD funding?
- Read the CEPD Guidelines.
- If you qualify, complete the Application and
Travel Forms and send
to a CEPD committee member 7 - 14 days prior to the training.
- The Committee will review your application and contact you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. My department has funding available for the workshop. Can I
use CEPD funding to pay for my registration or travel?
A. NO. CEPD funding can only be used when your department refuses to pay your expenses.
Q. If the workshop is in Joplin can I use CEPD funding for travel?
A. NO. Joplin is within a 50 mile radius of Pittsburg.
Q. I want to attend a workshop in Wichita. The total cost including
travel will be $300. My department has budgeted $200 for my continuing education.
Will CEPD reimburse me for the remaining $100?
A. YES, if all eligibility criteria is met.
