PSU, NEO sign reverse transfer agreement

Pittsburg State University President Steve Scott joined Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College President Jeff Hale Thursday on the NEO campus to sign a reverse transfer agreement between the two institutions.
PSU saddened by death of student in ATV accident

Pittsburg State University President Steve Scott issued the following statement upon learning of the death of PSU student Devon Morris. Morris, a 20-year-old from LaCygne, Kan., passed away as a result of an ATV accident on Monday near Springfield, Mo.
Enactus team named 2nd runner up at nationals

During the opening ceremony of the 2013 Enactus National Competition in Kansas City, the PSU team was recognized as the second-place winner in the Walmart Women’s Economic Empowerment Project Partnership contest and as the third-place winner in the Sam’s Club “Step Up For Small Business” competition.
Nature Reach plans summer camps for kids

Delia Lister, coordinator for Pittsburg State University’s Nature Reach Program, said this week that only a few openings remain for the two summer camps hosted in June and July by Nature Reach and the Sperry-Galligar Audubon Society.
Roberts named interim dean of library services

Randy Roberts, curator of special collections and university archivist, has been named interim dean of library services. His appointment is effective June 8.
Work begins on Dellinger Hall renovation

Late last week, hundreds of Pitt State students moved out of their rooms in Dellinger Hall. By Monday, construction fencing was up, part of a street was closed and workers were busy on a major renovation of the university’s largest residence hall.
Student nurses earn national recognition

The PSU chapter of the Kansas Association of Nursing Students (KANS) wrapped up the academic year with two national awards for service projects and national recognition for the strength of the chapter.
Vanderbeck named assistant to the president

Jaime Vanderbeck, who has spent the past seven years as assistant director of PSU’s Office of Graduate and Continuing Studies, has been named Assistant to the President. She will assume her new role on June 10.
PSU receives Laura Bush 21st Century Library grant

Pittsburg State University has announced the receipt of a major grant from the Laura Bush 21st Century Library program to train and mentor master’s-level library media specialists for school libraries serving the nine Native American Tribes in Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri.
