USS promotes ride sharing

The Unclassified Staff Senate (USS) is promoting a new ride-sharing resource as a service to its constituents and a show of support for PSU's sustainability efforts.

Plans call for staff who are interested in routine or occasional ride-sharing to be able to use a shared Zimbra briefcase to find others with corresponding campus commutes.

Sen. Lindell Haverstic said the immediate goal is to have some trial ride-sharing taking place by Wednesday, October 24th, in observation of Campus Sustainability Day.

“If this effort successfully generates additional interest, a ride-sharing resource for the entire campus may result,” Haverstic said.

Persons who wish to be included on the inaugural list of those interested in routine or occasional ride-sharing should call or e-mail Haverstic by Wednesday, October 17th, to share information about their campus commute so data can be assembled in time to be of use for the October 24th Campus Sustainability Day.
