The three co-chairpersons of Pittsburg State University's 2009 Faculty-Staff Campaign presented a check for $53,274.24 to President Steve Scott on Wednesday, representing what has been donated so far in this year's campaign.

With the Faculty Staff Campaign running throughout the month of October, the co-chairs of this year's effort are reminding employees that every gift matters when it comes to the future of PSU students.

In accordance with the wishes of the project's largest donor, the newest building on the Pittsburg State University campus will be known as the Bryant Student Health Center. The Kansas Board of Regents approved the naming at their meeting last week.

Fifty Pittsburg State University students are going to get a $1,000 surprise this fall, thanks to an anonymous donor. Director of Development Scott Roberts said today that the university has received a $50,000 gift that is to be used for students who typically don't get the large scholarships.
