The Pitt State women's basketball team opens the 2009-10 season Sunday (Nov. 15), hosting No. 12 Central Oklahoma at John Lance Arena. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. (CST) and the first 300 PSU students who tailgate south of the arena prior to the contest will eat for free at the pre-game event.

The No. 21 Pittsburg State Volleyball team (23-10, 13-6 MIAA) will play its final regular season match of the season against Southwest Baptist (11-23, 4-14 MIAA). The two teams face off in Bolivar at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14.

The Gorillas return to John Lance Arena to play their final home matches of the season this weekend. Pitt State will face Northwest Missouri at 7 p.m. on Friday, followed by a 3 p.m. match against Truman on Saturday.

The PSU Volleyball team will host a Dig Pink Match on Friday, October 23 at 7 p.m. against Nebraska-Omaha. Dig Pink is a Breast Cancer Awareness Rally being held all of October to raise awareness and funds, sponsored by the Side-Out Foundation.

The Gorillas play the first three games of a six-game conference home stand this weekend. Pitt State faces top 10 teams, No. 8 Emporia State and No. 7 Washburn on Friday and Saturday, followed by a Sunday match with Fort Hays State.

This weekend marks the first full weekend of play for the Gorillas (9-3, 1-0 MIAA), who opened the conference portion of the season last weekend with a 3-0 win over No. 8 Central Missouri. Pitt State will first travel to Omaha, Neb. to take on the UNO Lady Mavs (11-3, 1-0 MIAA) at 7 p.m. on Friday, followed by a 2 p.m. match against Fort Hays State (4-9, 1-0 MIAA) on Sunday.
