Cartagena Named MIAA Player of the Year, Six Earn Honors

Pittsburg State Volleyball senior Pamela Cartagena has been named the MIAA Player of the Year the league announced Wedensday (Nov. 18). Cartagena was a unanimous selection to the All-MIAA First Team and five other Gorilla volleyball players were also named to all-conference teams.
Gorilla Volleyball Ready for NCAA South Central Regional

No. 21 Pittsburg State finished the regular season winning 10 of its last 11 matches and hopes to carry that momentum into the NCAA-II South Central Regional Tournament this week. Pitt State will open NCAA play with No. 10 Emporia State on Thursday at 5 p.m. A win will pit the Gorillas against either top-seeded Central Missouri or Dallas Baptist at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Pitt State is the No. 5 seed in the region, while Emporia State is the No. 4 seed.
