Pitt State, Southern Roll On Day One of Chatters/Comfort Inn Classic

MSSU and Pitt State made short work of the opposition on day one action of the Chatters/Comfort Inn Classic Friday (Nov. 20). The Lions rolled to a 110-66 win over Missouri S&T in the early game, while the Gorillas opened the game on a 23-0 run en route to a 96-54 victory over Haskell in the nightcap.

Gorilla Women Suffer Loss to Tarleton State

The Pittsburg State women’s basketball team (1-1) suffered a tough loss Friday night in the opening game of the DFW Marriott Champions Circle Pioneer Premier hosted by Texas Woman’s University. The Gorillas fell 75-46 to Tarleton State. It was the Gorillas worst loss since a 94-49 loss to Emporia State on Feb. 20, 2008.

Gorillas Set to Host Chatters/Comfort Inn Classic

The Pitt State basketball team will return to the friendly confines of John Lance Arena Friday and Saturday (Nov. 20-21) to host the 2009 Chatters/Comfort Inn Classic. The four-team classic format tournament field includes the host school, Pitt State, MIAA rival Missouri Southern, former MIAA foe Missouri S&T and NAIA member Haskell.

Women's Basketball Signs Three Prep Athletes

Pittsburg State University Women’s Basketball Coach Lane Lord announced the signing of three student-athletes in the early signing period on Thursday (Nov. 19.). Sara Molz, Katy Cooper and Y’cedria Devers will play for the Gorillas beginning in the 2010-11 season.

The Pittsburg State Women's Basketball team (1-0) travels to Denton, Texas this weekend to take on Tarleton State and host school Texas Woman's at the DFW Marriott Champions Circle Pioneer Premiere. The Gorillas will face the TexAnns at 5 p.m. on Friday and the Pioneers at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Pitt State Pulls Away from Pesky Sterling, 72-49, in Season Opener
