Career Services hosts Dog Days

David Hogard, Career Services, grills hot dogs for the annual Dog Days of Summer.

On a day that the grill seemed almost unnecessary, the Pittsburg State University Office of Career Services handed out free hot dogs, chips and drinks Friday as a way to tell students, "think about us BEFORE you need a job."

Mindy Cloninger, director of the Office of Career Services, said the event is an effort to get students involved with the office from their first days on campus.

"The message we want students to take away is that preparation for employment begins on the first day of school," Cloninger said. "Our office offers a wide range of programs that are designed to prepare students for the day when they actually enter the job market and we want students to know about and take advantage of those programs."
