President Steve Scott will host a budget forum and panel discussion for the campus at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, in the Overman Student Center. The president will be joined by Provost Lynette Olson, John Patterson, vice president for administration and campus life, and Victoria White, PSU's legislative liaison.
Scott said although many major questions remain unresolved at this point in the legislative session, he believed it was important to keep faculty and staff informed about issues that could affect the campus. At the forum, panel members will provide an update on the university's budget and discuss what the current legislative debates in Topeka may mean for the university and the community.
The president hosted several similar budget forums on campus last year and posted videos of those sessions on the PSU web site for persons who could not attend.
"I have had many people express appreciation for those forums," Scott said. "This is one more way to help individuals stay informed about important issues that touch their every day lives."
A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation, which will be recorded and available on-line for those unable to attend.
