For the first time, PSU's annual Homecoming reunion is focused on more than a particular campus organization or department - this year, the Office of Alumni and Constituent Relations is hosting a gathering of graduates from across the entire College of Technology.
"The most exciting thing is we'll be able to visit with our alumni and hear about their successes," said Dr. Bruce Dallman, dean of the College of Technology. "That's one of the most important gifts we get back from them. It makes you appreciate their success, and that in turn is a measure of our success."
Events for reunion attendees begin on Friday, Oct. 15, and include a variety of opportunities to meet with individual departments and learn more about the college today. The reunion agenda includes:
Friday, Oct. 15:
8 a.m. - Student and departmental displays at the KTC
9-10 a.m. - Reception for retired faculty and staff, Room E117 at the KTC
10-11:30 a.m. - Alumni reunion registration, KTC Rotunda
11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. - Luncheon and historical presentation, Room S102 at the KTC. Speakers include Randy Roberts, curator of special collections, Dean Bruce Dallman, and PSU President Steve Scott.
1:30-4:30 p.m. - Activities include guided tours of the KTC, departmental breakout sessions, a walking tour of campus, and a shuttle tour of downtown Pittsburg.
5-5:45 p.m. - Kenneth K. Bateman Outstanding Alumni Award reception, Heritage Room at Overman Student Center.
6 p.m. - Crimson and Gold Dinner at the Crimson and Gold Ballroom at Overman Student Center. Keynote speaker is Harvey Dean, founder of Pitsco Education.
Saturday, Oct. 16:
9 a.m. -Pittsburg Homecoming Parade.
11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. - All PSU Alumni and Friends Tailgate at GorillaFest.
2:20 p.m. - PSU vs. Washburn game.
