Dr. Susan Marchant, a professor in the Department of Music at Pittsburg State University, will perform a faculty recital at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 17, in PSU's McCray Recital Hall. The recital is free and open to the public.
For her recital, Marchant will perform works by Franz Tunder, Jean Titelouze, Jacques Boyvin, C.P.E. Bach, Johann Pachelbel and Johann Sebastian Bach. She will perform on PSU's highly regarded Fisk Opus 106 pipe organ.
A native of Buffalo, N.Y., Marchant earned her degrees in the area of organ performance. She did her undergraduate training at the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music and then earned MM, MMA and DMA degrees at Yale University.
Marchant joined the PSU Music Department faculty in 1979. Her teaching duties have included applied organ and harpsichord as well as music theory and literature. She has served as director of choral activities at PSU since 1988 and has led the PSU Choirs on tours throughout the U.S. and overseas.
