Samantha M. Heady, a psychology and sociology major from Oswego, and Jason A. Landrum, a commercial graphics and marketing major from Mound City, have been named the outstanding seniors at Pittsburg State University for 2010. As such, Heady and Landrum will have their names inscribed on the senior walk in front of Russ Hall and they will each address the graduates at commencement May 14-15.

Heady, who plans on attending law school at the University of Kansas, has been highly involved on campus during her time at PSU. She served on the Student Government Association for four years, including stints as a senator, academic affairs director and vice president.

Heady is a member of the PSU Honors College and served as vice president and then president of that organization. She has been inducted into the Alpha Kappa Delta and Phi Kappa Phi academic honor societies. Her volunteer service work includes Mt. Carmel Medical Center, highway cleanup, citywide food drive, American Heart Association's Heart Walk and service as an accounting tutor.

Samantha is the daughter of Paul and Karen Heady of Oswego, Kan.

Landrum, who plans on taking a business/marketing position upon graduation, is also a member of the PSU Honors College. At PSU, Landrum has been highly involved in Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), for which he has served as president since 2009.

Within SIFE, Landrum has held a number of offices and has been among the regional and national presenters in the group since 2008. He will complete his college career by traveling with SIFE to the national competition in Philadelphia, Pa., commencement week.

Landrum has been inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi, Omicron Delta Kappa, Omicron Delta Epsilon and Beta Gamma Sigma academic honor societies and has served on the College of Business Leadership Council, the PSU Brand Standards Council and the Honors College Advisory Board.
