With national unemployment now in double digits, Pittsburg State University's Career Services Office is doing everything it can to help students preparing to enter the job market get an edge with a program the office calls "Career Boost." This combination mini-makeover and skills preparation will take place from 4-6:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 9, in the Overman Student Center. It is co-sponsored by Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE).
Stations at the event will focus on resume writing; mock interviews; how to do a job search on the Internet; and answers to the question, "What can I do with this degree?"
The cost of Career Boost is $5. Refreshments will be served and participants will be eligible for prize drawings, including a grand prize of a Wii entertainment system.
For information, call the Office of Career Services at 620-235-4140 or visit the Career Services Web site at pittstate.edu/office/careers.
