If you are new to Pittsburg State University, the following is some information that is available to you through the Office of Information Services:
Administrative Account
Administrative accounts are normally used by support staff for functions not contained within GUS (Gorilla Users System). For more details, visit Adminsitrative Accounts/Logins.
Email
Pittsburg State University can provide an email account to all faculty and staff. Details for email accounts can be found at PSU Email Accounts. Please note that before your account can be activated all employee paperwork should be completed in Human Resources.
GUS & GusPIN
GUS is a web-based application used by students, faculty and staff for various administrative tasks and information. You can view details at GUS & GusPIN. Anyone associated with Pittsburg State can receive their password by presenting a photo ID at the OIS Service Window, 158 Kelce.
The menu items displayed on each person's GUS menu are personalized based on their association with Pitt State. All paperwork must be processed by Human Resources for faculty and staff to have access to their GUS menu.
Computer/Network Services
Technical Support Consultants are available to assist with any computer or technical issues. Tickets can also be created by calling the OIS Service Window at x4600. Any requests for new network connections should be submitted by the contact person or authorized signature for the account/department. Telephone
Telephone services across campus are provided by PSU Telecommunications, housed in the Office of Information Services. Each department, typically the authorized signature, is responsible for managing the phones in their department, which is normally coordinated by the department contact person. Additional information on telephone services are located at Faculty & Staff Telephone Services.
When assigning a phone to a new employee, the department contact person should request the following, which are provided at no additional cost:
- Change display name to the new user
- Reset voice mail box (which will delete any existing messages)
In some instances a new phone may be installed or the current phone moved or equipment upgraded. Each of these requests incur a charge, so an account number should be provided by the authorized signature of the account.
Cell phones are also available for permanent or temporary checkout with departmental authorization. Information is available at Cell Phones and Pagers.
